Shane Jensen

Greetings! I’m excited to be taking over this column, but also apprehensive about the big shoes I have to fill. For my inaugural piece, I will begin humbly with a fun, but simple, baseball analysis. As an applied statistician, I often feel driven by both the publication process and my own interests toward overly complicated models. I hope this column will serve as a reminder of the insight that can be brought by relatively simple methods.
