Data Science in Science: An Open-Access Journal

The 2023 IDEA Forum focused on open science. Open-access journals are key to redefining the landscape by serving as a catalyst for transparent, ethical, and collaborative science. The American Statistical Association recently added Data Science in Science, or DSiS, to its publications’ portfolio. This journal will provide unrestricted access to scholarly research, which is an essential component of open science. To complement the articles based on the presentations at the IDEA Forum, we present interviews with David Matteson, the inaugural editor of DSiS, and Kathy Ensor, who as president of the ASA had an initiative focused on data science and artificial intelligence.
