Powerful Actigraphy Data Through Functional Representation

Actigraphy is an emerging clinical technology to evaluate sleep, daytime activity, and circadian activity rhythms in people. An actigraph is a watch-like device, usually attached to the wrist or leg, that contains accelerometers to measure movements in the form of activity counts every minute or every few seconds. Common actigraphs can be viewed at the Philips website. They document sleep/wake patterns, sleep disorders, circadian rhythms disorders, basic activity levels, and compliance with exercise routines. It is usually worn for multiple days to give an overall pattern of the person’s activity level.
