Developments in the Statistical Modeling of Military Recruiting

Recruiting is an expensive, ongoing challenge for all of the U.S. military services. More than a quarter of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) budget—around $150 billion per year—goes to fund the pay and benefits of active and retired members of the military. Even modest gains in recruiting efficiency can translate to large dollar savings.
