Given the constraints of an uncertain economy, consulting statisticians are often asked to do more with less while continuing to keep the quality of their work unquestionably high. The greater emphasis on cost-containment undoubtedly has many benefits, but it brings with it obvious challenges, as well—challenges that extend across many aspects of statistical practice.
