Motorcycle riding is a popular way to exchange longevity for excitement and now accounts for more deaths in the United States than traditional diseases such as asthma, appendicitis, or meningitis.1 A one-hour ride on a motorcycle has a greater overall risk of death than a lifetime of commercial airline flights.
