The Earth’s changing climate affects every aspect of life on our planet. Anthropogenic, or human-induced, climate change has already caused and will continue to cause significant and widespread damage, beyond what might be expected from natural climate variability. While many of the impacts of climate change are expected to worsen in the coming decades, this is not some far-off mid- or end-of-century problem.
