Calculating the Odds of the Miracle at Brookline
The Ryder Cup is a three-day golf competition played every other year between a team from the United States and another representing Europe. Over the first two days, 16 four-ball and foursomes matches are conducted. On the final day of competition, 12 singles matches are played. In total, there are 28 matches. One point is given to the team winning a match, and, in the case of a tie (draw), half of a point is given to each.
