The world of word puzzles is wide indeed. In addition to flats, forms, cryptograms, and cryptic crosswords, which are mainstays of the National Puzzlers’ League (NPL), many other puzzle types have been developed. Here, I will present the “anaquote” and a variation of it called the “vertical anaquote.”
